Fire Prevention
Plan Review Requirements
All plans and specifications for new commercial construction, remodeling, and alterations or Operational Permits within the Duncan Valley Rural Fire District shall be submitted to the Department for review and approval prior to any construction or operations. The plans will be reviewed with the approval and recommendations forwarded to the County Planning and Development department. Plans shall comply with the 2018 I.F.C. and DVRFD code amendments.
Submittal information shall include, but is not limited to the following:

A copy of the County Building Permit.

One copy of the architectural drawings including site plan, civils, structural, mechanical and electrical.

Submittal of plans for the fire protection systems, plans require Engineering or N.I.C.E.T. approval.

Electronic submittal may be acceptable depending on format.

Water supply and fire flow requirements for the building and Fire Protection Systems required.

A 8.5" x 11" fire escape plan showing occ. load, use of each room and exit routes for occ. loads over 50.

Show the location of the main fire alarm control panel, fire sprinkler riser room, F.D.C. and Knox lock box.
Permits are required for building fire life safety features, fire hydrant systems, fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and commercial hood systems.
